"A Fellowship of Christian Ministries” freedom life center was founded in Hawaii, March 15 1990 as an independent evangelistic ministry. It is funded solely by the offerings from individual contributors as well as ministries. All contributions are directed solely in the furtherance of its principle plan and purpose. It maintains a home office on Maui as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation assuring that all contributions to the ministry qualify as tax deductible.
Our Vision and Purpose is by practical wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit together with longsuffering and doctrine: to proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; to give opportunity for non-believers to find faith in Him as Savior and to encourage believers to completely dedicate their lives to Him as Lord and Savior. Our vision is to release those that are captive and set them free to minister in their gift and calling. To come along side of, facilitate, encourage, begin new works, train, disciple, send out to the mission field and do whatever the Lord calls us to do! To pursue Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness! We are not a church per se, but rather we are a covering for “The Church” and ministries. We are not in any building program nor ever want one. We fully rely upon the verbal, plenary inspiration of scripture, believing that as a whole and in all its constituent parts, it is infallible as to truth and final as to divine authority. Therefore, we choose to walk in accordance with the whole purpose of Scripture as a continual source for correction in our thinking and living. Leadership is a calling The calling is by God and all provision comes from God. Always being prepared to serve. Meetings Meetings are held at different times in different places, check with the person that gave you this brochure. A typical meeting is a Free meeting in that all participate, we all bring your gifting to the service. This is not a one man show but a time to fellowship and be who you are in Christ!.
A time to: Encourage! Exhort! Admonish! Read scripture aloud - normally with an explanation of why you’re reading it ( Don’t make anyone guess) Pray- (being sure to include, over the months, all types and topics of prayer: individual, group, praise/worship, petition, intercession, repentance, sentence prayers, conversational prayer, and lots of thanksgiving) Testify! - Give a report of Gods grace in your life recently. Prophesy- Prophecy is, at root, an especially acute insight into the mind of God on some subject or event. It doesn’t have to involve predictions Meditate/Reflect - on what the last person just said. Preach- It doesn’t have to be a full-course sermon. Three to five minutes is fine. How about two? All is fine, start somewhere. Repent and confess- If you get a strong confirmation of forgiveness from the brothers and sisters in the meeting, it will give you much reassurance of Gods forgiveness. Reinforce! When someone says something that resonates with your spirit, back him or her up with a brief response, a word of agreement, or even an elaboration of the point. He or she will love you for it, and you’ll build unity that will last a lifetime. Take notes! Get physical! Don’t go way beyond the norm for your group and embarrass people, but loosen up and diversify occasionally into the physical dimension. Try things like kneeling, holding hands to pray, laying on hands if someone needs extra-special prayer or even dancing ( but not on the ceiling please). Lead a song or hymn- a round, a chorus-or divide the assembly and sing antiphonal songs (men/women, left/right side, adults/kids, republican/democrats, etc. Sing a song yourself- or devise a duet, trio, etc. And if non of the above- Ask for help. No More Spectators! New testament churches were led by laymen, not by pastors. The common folk took care of their own meetings including baptisms and weddings and communion and everything else. If you think you could never feel comfortable conducting a baptism or the Lord’s Supper, then you have been truly wounded by today’s closed system. The reformation doctrine of "the priesthood of the believer" means, in the end, that you are deserving and worthy to be priest as any human on this planet. Your status as a minister puts no limits on you. Rejoice! In the early days, there was no preset order of worship. Contributions were mostly spontaneous, as the Spirit led. In a typical congregation, there was no single person who always spoke. "Speakers" were itinerant and fairly rare. On the other hand, there were no pure spectators either. Everyone was expected to take part. Shyness was accepted, silence was not. Preaching and sharing of wisdom was briefer in those days, of course. Today’s feature length sermons tend to squelch shorter contributions, the sort of contributions an ordinary rustic believer could have managed in the early days. That’s why the modern day sermon really didn’t appear on the face of the earth until the fourth century, when the influence of pagan Greek orators brought it in. And the idea of a sermon brought every Sunday by the same person (While every one else sat silently) was still 1400 years away! The pastoral concept as we know it was also 1400 years away in a different world. But the practice of dividing up Christians between clergy and laity empted within 300 years. That was when Constantine came along and spread it across the empire. All the freedoms and practices of the early Christians evaporated as if they had never existed. By A.D. 500, the image of a joyful early church seemed antique and foreign as it does today. The idea that you are the meeting, no clergy need be present, and no elders or deacons need to watchdog the meeting was lost like sunken treasure in a storm upon the high seas. Friend until you’ve been in a red-hot meeting where everyone’s life is being changed and there is no human leadership present, you simply haven't tasted one of the greatest pleasures of the Christian life: being part of the true body of Christ. To you, that treasure still lies buried on the ocean floor.
Are you "coming to get fed" or coming to take part? 1. The need to bear one another’s burdens. The typical attitude of "you mind your business and I’ll mind mine" must be replaced with an understanding that we must now start being committed to helping each other like a true Christian family. 2. The need to bring something to share in a freedom meeting. They’ve never had to do this before! In the traditional closed meeting, you can come for years with empty hands, empty head, and empty heart-and no one will ever be the wiser. But at a freedom meeting you are the show. 3. Get committed to care for one another. If everybody’s into the freedom church just for what he can get out of it then you are in the wrong place, you must give to receive. 4. Come to build the other brother or sister up. Rise above small talk, especially casual talk about friends. Come to the table to meet the LORD. and each other in a brand new way. 5. Learn better ways to pray. 6. Get thee to the church on time. In these meetings you will miss the flow and wonder where every one is. Get there from the start. 7. (Good number) Let Christ express Himself through you at these meetings.
The Tithes, & Offerings Where do they go? Wherever the body of Christ directs. Part of the service will be for the body to pray and come into unity as to where the funds will go. All monies must be given away for this purpose and not for buildings and other programs whereby tying down the body to a monthly payment. We are there to help and not hinder.
